This brace of ducks was delivered to the Texas A&M biology collection as
part of a consignment of Texas mounted wildfowl. The two specimens are very
similar, but differ slightly in exact pattern of vermiculations, etc.
They have been indentified as eclipse male Steller's
Eiders - and highly unlikely to have been shot in Texas!
